Sunflowers - The Height of Life

So I've been looking through my past photos, ones from many years ago, and ones that I have taken more recently, and discovered these three that I took in Anglesey, North Wales. Sunflowers have always inspired me, they start out so small yet grow HUGE in a matter of weeks. And then they die. It reminded me of the life cycle, just really concentrated into a couple of months, rather than several decades that most people live to.

I started to research the meaning of Sunflowers, or what people believe they symbolise. I have a passion for things that have a significant point. Like everything has a point, whether its people, animals or even animals. To most people Sunflowers are radiant, they are bright, they are something to look up to. Sunflowers are named after the sun for two reasons, one is that the petals are a bright yellow colour, similar to the suns rays. The other is because of its rotating head, always pointing towards the sun. And I believe that this is what people should do. Instead of focusing on the dark times in their life, they should aim to rotate their life around the positives. Although I believe in this, this is the exact opposite as to what I do, but I don't want people to be like me. Not because I'm unique, but because I want them to be happy.

So, have a happy day today, and if you're feeling down, remember; be a Sunflower. Be radiant and one of a kind. Be you, BeYouTiful xx

The Start of Something New - Say Hello!

So hi! My name is Laura and I am eighteen years old!! So technically I am an adult, however I still act like a three year old.

At a job interview recently, I was asked if I was a car, what would I be. After thinking about this for a while I responded with "an Audi TT. Mostly because I'm short, I'm a busy body fast person and it depends on who I am with as to how I behave." I then thought to myself, and realised that I was totally right. I volunteer within Girlguiding UK (which is an amazing organisation and if you wanted to join go to www.girlguiding.org.uk/joinus) and so when I'm with the girls, I can act like a five year old, yet when I'm at an interview for example, I know I have to be responsible and stop acting childish.

Anyway, I wanted to start a blog as I have been inspired by my amazing friend, Isobel Celine who has an amazing fashion blog. I started thinking, well what am I passionate about? What makes me want to get up and go, or gives me a buzz when I do. Well the first thing that came to my mind is volunteering, as I do a lot with different charities and organisations, and then I thought, no. What do I love? Photography. I've always preferred to be behind the camera, instead of in front of it (unlike this picture where I am very drunk). Whilst doing my GCSEs, I took up photography and enjoyed it so much. I hated school, I was bullied a lot and felt that I was a loner, yet when I was behind the camera I didn't need to be with anyone. I love taking photos of nature. It's definitely my favourite subject. However, I also enjoy it very much taking surprise photos of people. Capturing a true laugh, rather than a forced smile, is always something I aim for.

Anyway, I hope you are intrigued about my new blog, and I am aiming to keep it updated at least twice a week. So here's to a new start!
